    Birdwatching in Knuckles Forest Range

The Knuckles Range is one of the most interesting and important places in Sri Lanka for birdwatching and ornithologists and so also called the Knuckles Conservation Forest. It is an UNESCO designated World Heritage Site. Knuckle Forest Is the home to up to 130 Bird species of which 17 are endemic which makes it to a birding hot spot. We ourselves are passionate birders and advise everyone to get involved in it once. There is no other activity in nature that brings you so close to these beautiful creatures and sharpens your senses. It is not unusual to meet other residents of all kinds, big and small, while looking for birds and you will be surprised how beautiful and versatile nature is. Some of the Knuckles specials are yellow-fronted barbet, dusky-blue flycatcher, Srilankanlorikeet, Srilankan grackle, yellow-eared bulbul Layard’s parakeet, Black Eagle , Black caped bulbul Srilankan Jungle fawl, Orange Minivit,
