Yala National Park is second Largest Nation park and most famous ,highest numbers of visiting National park of Srilanka. Where located in the south eastern region of Sri Lanka and extends over two provinces of Hambantota district of southern province and Monaragala district in Uva province. The entrance to the park is at Palatupana, 12km from Kirinda. The distance from Colombo to the entry point of Palatupana is 305 km. Yala National Park that consists of six blocks Though Yala spreads over an area of 1260 square kilometers, only one fifth of the area is open to the visitors. Four-fifths of the park is a strictly designated Natural Reserve. Adjoining the eastern border of the park is Kumana.This park is home to an extensive variety of 44 varieties of mammal and over 215 bird species. observed here. December to April is the best period to do Birdwatching in Yala Np and July ,August also recommended month.
Things to Know
- Personal effects for Warm/Windy/Rainy conditions should be carried by clients.
- Insect repellent, Sunburn lotion etc. are recommended Special dietary requirements should be notified in advance
- Clients must have good pair of Shoes/boots, Sutable wear of Safari and Sunglasses Clients have Binoculars and Camara etc , it would be better

Starting the Birdwatching session
Breakfast arrange at 8.30am near the Resting point and again the Birdwatching session
Lunch time arrange at 12pm by Resting point Birdwatching break time from 12pm to 2pm
Return back to Yala entrance at 6pm by ending the session
