Sinharaja Forest Reserve is home to over 50% of Sri Lanka's endemic species of mammals and butterflies, as well as many species of insects, reptiles, and rare amphibians. In 1978, Sinharaja Rain Forest was Designated as an international network of biosphere reserves as part of UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere (MAB) program and In December 1988, the Sinharaja Biosphere Reserve became Sri Lanka's first natural site to be added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. Sinharaja Rain Forest Kudawa - Giant Nawada Tree Nature Trail is a famous , Common and easy nature trail through the secondary forest type to Primary forest type which Leading of 7km pathway ,having little climbing up through the primary forest path till meet Giant of Nawada Tree height about more than 70meters.
