    Sinharaja Rain Forest is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Srilanka . One of Important Sri Lanka's tropical lowland rainforest, covering by an area of 18,900 acres and It ranges in altitude from 300m to 1,170m.. It is located in the Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces of the south-west lowland wet zone of Sri Lanka Sinharaja is bordered by rivers on three sides, it is bordered by an ancient footpath near Beverley Tea Estate and Denuwa Kanda. From the northern or western parts of the country, you can reach Sinharaja Forest Reserve via Ratnapura, Kalawana, via Weddala. From the south,can enter from Deniyaya. Other Entrances are enter the Rakwana , Morningshide and Lankagama side. Sinharaja Forest Reserve is home to over 50% of Sri Lanka's endemic species of mammals and butterflies, as well as many species of insects, reptiles, and rare amphibians. Most of Sinharaja Forest was originally declared a forest reserve under the Waste Lands Ordinance in 1875. In 1978, Sinharaja Rain Forest was included in the international network of biosphere reserves as part of UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere (MAB) program. In October 1988, the reserve, along with a northeastern extension, was declared Sri Lanka's first National Wilderness Heritage Area. In December 1988, the Sinharaja Biosphere Reserve became Sri Lanka's first natural site to be added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. Mulawella Mountain Trekking is one of challenging trail of Sinharaja Rainforest via kudawa entrance.Climbing up from 457meters to 758 m through secondary and primary Forest of Sinharaja Forest. After Climb of Mulawella May observe the 360 Dgree view of Entire Sinharaja Forest from top summit of Mulawella Mountain. the scenic view of Entire Area towards Adam peaks, kaluatra even colombo , when have very clear weather situation.

    Best Season

    December to April is the best period to visit Horton Plains are February to end of April and July and August also recommended months visit in the Sinharaja Rain Forest .

    Things to Know

    • Personal effects for Warm/Windy/Rainy conditions should be carried by clients.
    • Insect repellent, Sunburn lotion etc. are recommended Special dietary requirements should be notified in advance
    • Clients must have good pair of Shoes/boots, leech socks, long sleeve t-shirts and pants…

    Arriving at Kudawa entrance by 7.00 a.m.

    Starting the trekking by 7.15 am.

    Mulawella Mountain trail is one of challenging trails which leading 8km both way route ,wil take 2 hours for one way.

    Refreshments time and Relaxing at top of Summit Mulawella

    Trekking back to same route around 12am reach the Main office at Kudawa Entrance
